Cheat Code

I am 13 years old and I made a shoot-em-up game set in the distant future for the GDevelop Game Jam #7. This is my second time competing in this game jam.  To fit the theme, “Overpowered,” there is an “overpowered” laser beam that is activated by defeating alien enemy ships.  See more information below.   

 

Controls:

Arrow keys:  to move

Space bar: to shoot

Blue bar:  health

The green bar:  fills up as you defeat enemies. Once fully charged, the cheat code activates—turning you into an unstoppable force!

Check point: If you die on Level 4 or 5 you will respawn on Level 3.

 

Back story:

In the distant future, the evil Zenith Empire rules over the galaxy with an iron fist. You, Rex Holt, a defector and former special forces combat pilot for the Zenith Empire, have hard-coded a cheat code to take down their mainframe. By killing alien enemy ships, you absorb their power which is needed to activate the cheat code. To succeed in your mission, you must take control and ultimately overthrow the extremely powerful leader of the Zenith  Empire, Zorrith Vex, the fifth and final boss.
